Cultural Summer/ Exhibitions / Easter feast / Carnival / Athletic Events

    Cultural Summer. Methana the last summers organise the Cultural summer. It is a very important event that lasts at the all period of summer and has been crowned by big success with important projection. The cultural summer includes mainly representations with music and dance from known groups popular and traditional dances and music, not only locally but also from all Greece and the abroad.     Exhibitions. Exhibitions of photograph, book, painting, hagiography and theatrical representations are carried out at the duration of all time and mainly at the summer period with many participations and visitors.

    Easter feast. If you love the Greek feast, the inhexaustible mirth of simple persons, the enjoyments of delicious food and the good wine, each Easter in Methana there is the Easter feast, where it is offered in all free of charge, lamb in the spit, red eggs and local good wine.(Photographs)

    Carnival. But also carnival in Methana, you can live a mad and carefree climate with the residents, that with the imagination, carnival uniforms and the burn of “Karnabalou”, revive old deliveries (Methanitikos Marriage) and maintain until our days the cultural heritage of their ancestors.    Athletic Events. Important place possesses also the SPORTS in Methana. Two grounds for basketball are in function, ground for football and ground for Volley, as well as closed room with machineries for gymnastic. Are activated teams of football and basketball, groups of basketball with education at summertime from recognized trainers of Greece and abroad. Also, has been founded Nautical Club known as “NIREYES” with participations in league matches to Istioploias, and kanoe - kayak etc.(Photographs)
